Naliza van der Schyff

Smart strategies from the World’s # 1 Wealth coach, JT Foxx.

Where it started?

As a strong minded individual, a qualified accountant with strong analytical skills, I was competent and comfortable in my career life. I had just returned to South Africa after a stint in Angola. I was facing a scary big task how to figure out the future, back in my home country.  JT Foxx just arrived in South Africa, still working out if his decision coming to Africa (the land of lions) was afterall a good idea, when I was prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for opportunity to devour to proof my next success. I enjoyed my personal life from a right brain approach, which included a lot of adventure, travel and fun and applied a left brain approach for my business life. Suddenly I had the feeling I needed more out of my career. I was tired of accounting month ends, running after deadlines, day in, day out. I played it safe all along. I was steered towards taking more risk for my future.  I ended up attending a JT Foxx property event with no intention to want to learn more about property, rather to satisfy this feeling of discontent.

The turning point

The change in direction for my life happened in that event when JT Foxx declared: “If you are not growing you are dying.” It was my wakeup call. I was busy dying.  At the event JT mocked me for my Skype name. I agree, an accountant with a user name: “Squarepants” was unusual. Apart from being an introvert and my uneasiness being exposed, I was truly thankful that he threw me a lifeline and offered to coach me. It was crystal clear, growth was lacking in my life. The journey was no longer about what I had to do with my life. I found tremendous value in JT teaching me the importance of who I had to be in business, over what I had to do in business. I set forth on an exciting journey and along the way I have learned that it is the little things that makes the big impact in business. Here are gems I discovered along the way:

  • Your life is what you make out of it
  • Where you spend your time matters
  • No detail is too small
  • Get up 1h earlier everyday
  • Read
  • Confidence is essential
  • Respect people
  • Be thankful

The journey moving forward

I have attended many more fantastic events, learning about the latest marketing and branding strategies, how to become a great sales person and how to speak and make money from the stage. While I was working on opportunities to secure my financial income, I had no lack of drive to become the next Millionare Underdog as JT visited SA often and kept me motivated. He promised to return and he did so and keep doing so on a regular basis. Thank you for your loyalty JT! I bought a copy of his book: “Millionaire Underdog” – Start, Grow & Explode your Business. This book is my reference manual. Instant access to valuable information. Having a business coach available to guide your decisions and actions is absolutely paramount. This book gives you the feeling you have access to JT 24/7.

Success vs significance

JT constantly amazes me. At every encounter he is able to share a new story of how he has invested time and money that made a sustainable difference in people’s lives, while running his own companies. Being inspired as an entrepreneur is wonderful, but ultimately life is about being a leader. On a particular day I was confronted by a question posted by JT: “Have you made this place a better place since you got here?” JT not only inspired me but kept me accountable. His constant reminders echoed in my head – even to this day – “ideas are nothing, execution is everything. Stop talking about it get it done!” I started a Leadership Program for marginalised kids in the Cape Town community of Atlantis. Atlantis is known as the Lost City, where kids as young as 6 are exposed to drugs and gangsterism. By equipping the children with the right tools we empower them to grow into leaders who are able to take responsibility for creating their own futures.

JT is not only generous in sharing his knowledge for free but he creates the same opportunities for his students that made him successful. JT introduced me to a person of stature, Dr Nido Qubein, President of the High Point University also one of his personal coaches. Nido said: “if you want to be successful, study successful people and do what they do.” There is no doubt that JT is a successful serial entrepreneur looking at the thousand of success stories he created for his students. My biggest takeaway as to what makes JT so successful and how is he able to sustain his success is through a lesson he taught me, quoted in his own words: “Everything I do is strategic.”

The results from applying the lessons I learnt

Through applying the aforementioned stratgey I started a successful sport consultancy, amplifying high performance for organisations engaged in track and field. I became obsessed with thinking strategically. I have learned that strategic thinking is the gateway of innovation, the way to stay relevant in the market and  how it positions you to think ahead. JT conditioned me to manage my time and to follow a morning ritual, listing as many ideas possible by answering these 2 important questions:  How can I make this better? How do I become No.1? These two fundamentals are key to my successes. Earning foreign currency as a South African, travelling the world while enjoying the privilege delivering podium performances for countries, coaches and athletes are part of my growth triumph. My biggest victory was overcoming my fear as an introvert. I stood on stage and introduced our National Hero, Wayde van Niekerk, (400m World record holder) to over 500 successful  entrepreneurs.

I learned the only way to lead a fulfilling, enriching life is to be steadfast about your own personal growth. Growth is reasonable as close to oxygen in our need to stay alive. Often in business and in life it is the things we don’t know what we don’t know, that are hurting us and it took one man, the World’s #1 Wealth Coach, JT Foxx, to turn the switch on for me. On good days I appreciate him and on bad days, when I’m just not feeling like it, I cherish his commitment to all of his students….“I can make excuses, I can stay in bed, but because of you I get up.”

Loyalty is a commitment. Loyalty is everything.

Because of loyalty, I’m free, I’m living, I’m growing, but most importantly I’m not dying!

Wonderful Naliza, JT is a changemaker, he believes more in his students then they believe in themselves. If I could make a fancy blog like this I would write one myself about him.. He deserves a lot of credit, he has more energy than I have ever seen before, he teaches with passion and humor, It’s fascinating to see how people can not get enough of his wisdom. I wish both you and JT the best of luck.

Your story is really inspiring and I particularly liked to read about how you transitioned from an introvert into speaking on stage now to big audiences. Also love the little bits of insights you shared like the two questions to ponder when you get up every morning . Thanks so much for sharing your story .
